KICKOFF Meeting!!!

"[the Lord] said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.' I would rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell in me."
~ 2 Corinthians 12:9

Welcome back all OLPHers from last year and a special WELCOME to all the newcomers and Freshman who will be joining our group this year.

In the Scripture passage above, St. Paul gives a great revelation that God has shown throughout Salvation History, that God does not call the strong, but He strengthens the called, and it is by His power that the magnificent happens. We are the Youth of the Church and there are a lot of things that we don't know, and a lot of things that we have not experienced, but with Christ in our hearts and the Holy Spirit as our guide we will bask in the glory of God the Father, and we will do it as One Family of Faith.

This weekend is our first official Youth group meeting and I'd like to invite all High School youth to each Sunday Meeting for this year. In case you forgot, meetings begin at 6:15pm in Fr. Gresham Hall.

What to look for at the meetings:

  • All the Proper Liability forms for the Diocese and Parish (you need these to be an active member of the Youth Group)
  • Sign-ups for Fundraisers and Activities that will take place throughout the year
  • Itinerary of events for the year
  • and, of course, other enthused High School youth who are looking to meet up with old friends and make new ones

My Solemn Pledge, Promise, and Commitment...
I hereby pledge, promise, and commit myself to you, the youth of the OLPH parish, to not only be there in body, but to be at each meeting, event, and activity in the name of Christ. So that even if you are the only other person who has shown up in His Most Holy Name, He will be among us and we will encounter Him in our midst's.

YAC Meeting Sunday

"He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient, for power is made perfect in weakness.' I would rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me"
